Founder's Perspective

Have you ever had a desire to do something but did not think you could or even had the skill set to accomplish it? I did. I was a young married woman transitioning into the workplace from college with a desire to publish a magazine, but I had no idea how to pursue what was within my heart. For many years I nurtured thoughts for this magazine and how it might be a beneficial resource. Time and again, circumstances forced me to ask the Lord for clear direction for my life, and how to fulfill my calling.

One morning I read an article about a new magazine being launched. I felt this was a sign that the Lord was using this to help me see the value of my dream of publishing a magazine, but that it should help “Build people up in Him.” Through His grace, the Lord validated my new direction and gave me four core elements (faith, hope, endurance, and freedom) that would become the spiritual focus of our magazine and future resources. He also revealed the name of the organization, Son Cast Media, through which we would help raise people up in their faith. (For more on our first resource, the EtL Café, click here.)

As I researched my options, it became clear that this “magazine” needed to become an Internet-based product rather than print, because this format would offer the greatest potential to reach our public. Utilizing the Internet also provides the amazing benefits of an interactive environment to readers all over the world so that they can connect with, encourage, and teach each other.

That was my dream. This is now my reality. I founded Son Cast Media to fulfill a lifelong passion, and as a visible testimony to God’s intervention in the course of my life. God inspired, pushed, pulled, and thrust me into a role where I intend to help bring people around the world together to give God greater glory, support those who seek Him through prayer and mission kinship, and to fulfill the Lord’s command to me to build up people in Him.
